Anyone do a stop and shop at holiday time

I read a post but can't find where I read it. Might have been on the Tuppeware.com discussion boards.
Seems several different party types get together and do a one day stop and shop. They invite all thier customers and put up flyers in local stores and invite the neighbors. They said they did good and people loved coming to see all the different things and now look forward to it every year.

Has anyone tried this? if so, what do you display? Do you sell some things you have in stock no longer needing and stuff? Do you offer special discounts. I think this would be a very neat idea to do. I would love to hear more on this if anyone has done this.

If no one here has, how about your ideas.

I have done this and would send out invites. Have a little snack if you are doing it at the holiday time you could have some holiday deco out and have hot cider and cookies. Set up you kit have catalogs and flyers for when they come in. I invite them to some cider or what ever you are serving first and let them look, then give catalog and have them sit for awhile. You could sell thing if you wish depending on what and how much you have avalible to sell you could have this on a sperate table if you want to keep them seperate. good luck!
