Hello!

I have recently helped a friend of mine start a non profit (501(c)3) organization for APS (Antiphospholipid Antibody Syndrome) in the United States. It's a blood disorder that both she and my husband have.

To help pay for the fees I am holding a fundraiser. We have already filed the 501(c)3 paperwork and the lawyer has said that all donations are tax deductible (retroactive). Does anyone know if the Tupperware Fundraiser would also be tax deductible?

Our foundation's website is www.apsinformation.com (http://www.apsinformation.com) if anyone is interested in reading about it.

Thanks in advance,
Heidi

By the way I understand it is, You would pay tax on the product unless the products are going to the organization. Like a church bought the product for their kitchen, or a group home bought some things to furnish a home they don't pay tax. But if the customers are buying to support the organization, but the customer is keeping the product not the orgaization they pay tax. I think if it is a tax exempt organization you pay the tax and get reimbersed

Heidi... Gems is right...

If the fundraiser organization purchases Tupperware for their OWN use, they don't have to pay taxes on it. Everyone else (customers) do have to pay taxes.
