I'm not selling tupperware, just buying a few things I have noticed puzzle me and thought maybe some of you had the answers.
Firstly does each country 'make' it's own tupperware? or does it come from a central place. Why don't they have the same colors and products across all countries? That part fascinates me - everything in the Australian catalogue is clear/blue/white and then I see that Germany has GREEN spaghetti storers - and I want those! or the pink soup mugs!! Do they do much in the way of market research? You should see how the ebay prices in Australia escalate for anything pink.
I've been buying a bit on ebay, and some of the sellers are consulatants, how come they can make things so inexpensive? A friend of mine just bought the 'tower of power' from a USA seller, and it is less than half the price than here in Australia (taking currency conversion into consideration) How can the same item cost $169 here, but $77 in the USA? Is there a tupperware seconds shop...lol
How does the company feel about selling on ebay? I know some (like Creative Memories) are very much against it?Lots of questions I know, but these things interest me.
Thanks,
Patricia

I am not a tupperware consultant either. But, I did buy some items from one on eBay. And, let me tell you, I did NOT receive them after paying. I am now trying to get my money back after almost a month. She has lots of things listed! I thought that because she was a Tupperware consultant she would be trustworthy! Here is a link to her eBay store, see for yourself.

Almost another week has gone by and I still have not received the items I purchased on eBay. And, to beat it all, the person who sold them to me has been posting on this board and offering help to others. I know it is the same person, because both eBay and BurpIt.com list the same e-mail address. And, on her BurpIt.com profile she says she has been an "director" for TW for 19 years. I had no idea that you were not allowed to sell on eBay if you worked for TW...but it seems like this person should have known that. All I want is the items that I purchased! Sorry for the rant, I am just very frustrated. :rain

All the different countries have different colors~ I know alot of times when there was a shortage of some particular products in the past I have seen where Tupperware is Waiting on the Mold to arrive back in the US from a different country to replenish,
I know alot of people really like the colors in Austrailia and other countries, I have no idea what type of research they do to get the color schemes they select but I would love to see more colors added :)
Tupperware's Policy on Ebay Selling
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Tupperware recognizes that our sales force members use many different avenues to sell our products. We have received many inquiries asking if eBay is an approved avenue for selling Tupperware® products. The following Q & A will help clarify the Company’s policy on using eBay as a selling tool.
Tupperware’s Policy Regarding eBay
Tupperware recognizes that our sales force members use many different avenues to sell our
products. The Internet has provided many new and creative ways to expand the Opportunity and
product offerings to more customers. The popular auction site eBay is one such avenue. We have
received many inquiries asking if eBay is an approved avenue for selling Tupperware® products.
The following Q & A will help clarify the Company’s policy on using eBay as a selling tool.
But first, keep in mind the most profitable and valuable selling method you have as a sales force
member is the Party. We recommend you begin by creating value-added relationships with your
Hosts and party guests, Showcase leads, and My.Tupperware Internet buyers, which are the tried
and true building blocks of a successful Tupperware business
Q 1: Can members of the sales force sell current products on eBay?
A: No, eBay is not an approved selling method for Tupperware sales force members. Selling our
products in an auction setting only degrades our brand and undermines the value of the
Tupperware Opportunity. Selling products that are in our current line on eBay is a violation of the
Tupperware Consultant Agreement, and can result in the immediate termination of your authority
to act as an authorized Tupperware Consultant.
Q 2: Can sales force members advertise and/or sell the business kits on eBay?
A: Business kits may be listed on eBay as a way to advertise the Opportunity, ONLY if the kit is
listed at the full retail price determined by Tupperware. Efforts to conceal a lower business kit
price with an inflated shipping and handling charge are not permitted. The information presented
with the business kit may not misrepresent the Tupperware Opportunity in any way. Failure to
adhere to these guidelines can result in an immediate termination of the Consultant’s authority to
act as an authorized Tupperware Consultant.
Q 3: Can sales force members sell any product on eBay?
A: One of eBay’s basic policies for selling anything on their site is that you must own and have
physical possession of any product before you can sell it on eBay. If anyone sells products on
eBay before having physical possession and ownership of the item and/or fulfills the customer
order from some other form of order fulfillment system (such as the My Sales Web Application)
the sellers’ rights on eBay will be revoked. Equally, any Tupperware Consultant who sells
products from our current product line on eBay and fulfills the order from the My Sales Web
Application will have their rights as a Tupperware Consultant immediately revoked.
Q 4: There are so many listings of product on eBay. Can they be removed?
A: When a person has full ownership and possession of a product, that person legally has a right
to do whatever she/he wants with the product. Customers who have products they no longer want
may desire to sell the products, much like a garage sale. Therefore, Tupperware is not able to
remove many of the listings on eBay, unless the listings are created by sales force members who
are fulfilling the orders through the My Sales Web Application.
Q 5: Does this mean that sales force members can sell products they own and possess?
A: Technically yes. However, we strongly recommend that you avoid this practice. Although
selling products on eBay may appear to be a good way to reduce or eliminate an inventory of
extra product, selling a premium brand such as Tupperware® products on eBay diminishes the
value of our brand. It also eliminates the opportunity to create a lasting relationship between the
sales force member and the customer; raises potential warranty issues; and does not accurately
represent the Tupperware Opportunity. Again, any Tupperware Consultant who sells products
from our current product line on eBay and fulfills the order from the My Sales Web Application will
have their rights as a Tupperware Consultant immediately revoked.

I have to say that I do like the Australian colors too!! I went to their website and they are so colorful. I also noticed that they have different names for their products...Our Flat Outs are called Go Flex there! They also have some really neat products...thier kitchen utensils are cool looking and they even have a holder for them and their called Soft Grips. Their host gifts are AWESOME...whole sets of RNS or the knife and block set!! WOW! I wish they would mail a catelog to the states...I'd love to see everything!

I like the colors also. What I really liked was the lunch set with the lunch box. That would be so nice for work and to carry around. Think of the conversations that could be started over the lunch kit!!! I wish we had that here. Please keep us posted about getting a catalog. I would have signed up for a catalog but I figured they wouldn't send one to me. Maybe there is some on this board that could help us in getting some catalogs from different country's.

That's interesting about eBay - but it seems to be OK if the sellers are actually the owners of the items, which of course makes sense. I think there are a few consultants on there that seem to be doing the wrong thing, but it also appears to be a legitimate way of people to get rid of their excess stock.
I think often big companys discount the impact sites like eBay have, because I was after some specific older items that's where I went - then directly because of that I saw some other things I wanted so I ordered a catalogue, and now have placed an order with a consultant. So it comes full circle. having tupperware on eBay probably increases visibility and sales, but often higher level execs don't want to see that.
Funny that few here like the Aussie colors - I think they are pretty boring! I was browsing around and saw that Germany had green pasta mates...so much nicer than the plain ones with black seals!

Yikes.....that is bad how much Tupperware is on Ebay. There is one store on there that says they have the item shipped directly from Tupperware. Ummm....let it go or report it?
