Active: A Consultant is considered to be “active” when she/he submits $250 in retail sales within a 4 month rolling period of time for example
Jan-april...then in May jan drops off so the 4 month period is Feb- may and so on



Attendance Gift: A token gift offered to all Guests, attending a Tupperware Party. Baseline Products: Products showcased in the regular, full line catalog. New catalog editions are released about three times a year.



Benefit: A benefit tells customers what a specific product feature will do for them. For example: “Because this product is white (feature), it complements any table setting (benefit)”. A good demonstration translates features into benefits.



Big Weeks: Themed sales challenges held the beginning of January to kick off a new year.



Birthday Weeks: Promotional sales weeks with bonus awards for Hosts and the sales force, celebrating the founding of Tupperware as a direct selling company. Usually held during May.



Business Planner: Calendar Consultants and Managers use to keep track of business and personnel information. Also referred to as “datebook”.



Closing the Sale: Inviting action, also known as closing the sale, helps customers go from “maybe” to “yes” decisions. Consultants/Managers close the sale of each product by pointing out where it can be found in the catalog or on the order form, and then pausing for Guests to order.



Consultant: An independent businessperson.



Consumer: A consumer buys Tupperware products from a Consultant or Manager at a Tupperware party, Showcase or via the internet.



Custom Kitchen Planning (CKP): With this free planning service, you help customers plan permanent food storage centers consisting of Modular Mates containers and other related products that meet their exact kitchen storage needs.



Customer Base: Your customer base consists of all the customers you currently service. Your goal is to continue offering those customers the best in customer service, while expanding your customer base to include many more people. The more people you service well, the more profitable your business will be.



Customer Updating: Calling or visiting customers every three months to tell them about new products, sales specials and Host Gifts.



Dating: A dating is a definite commitment to host a Tupperware part; dating is also the process of asking for that commitment. Dating is the heart of your business. If you don’t date parties, you’re out of business.



Dating Bid: A dating bid, is an invitation to host a Tupperware Party. A general dating bid is an invitation directed toward a group of people. A one-to-one dating bid is a personal invitation to one person.



Dating Gift: A token gift, offered to those people who date their own party within a specified period of time.



Dating Lead: A dating lead, is someone who seems interested in hosting a Tupperware party, or someone who you think would be a good Host.



Defective Replacement: If a consumer returns a defective Tupperware product to a Consultant, Manager or Distributor, the consumer is given the options outlined in either the Tupperware Full Lifetime Warranty or the Quality Guarantee, whichever applies.



Delivery Day: This is the day Tupperware products are delivered to the Host.



Diamond Manager: A Senior Executive Manager who maintains Diamond Status during a calendar year becomes a Diamond Manager and qualifies to drive a prestigious vehicle. Your Manager or Distributor can give you additional details on a Diamond Manager career.



Distributor: The Distributors provide Managers and Consultants with products, training, motivation and recognition.



Distributorship: The Distributorship is the physical location of the Distributor’s office.



Executive Manager: A (Unit) Manager who has stepped up to the next level. Executive Managers have even greater earning opportunities, plus they qualify for the use of a company vehicle or monthly cash equivalent. Your Manager or Distributor can give you addition details on an Executive Manager career.



Feature: A feature is a characteristic of a product, such as its color, shape, size, cost, etc. For example: The Serving Center Set is opaque White (feature) and it has six outside compartments (feature). A good demonstration translates features into benefits.



Friendship: A compensation plan that rewards Consultants and Managers for recruiting.



Fundraiser: Fundraisers are special sales activities which are held to raise money for civic and community organizations.



Training/Introductory Party: A party hosted by a new Consultant at which the Manager “opens” the new Consultant’s business by dating parties for her/him.

Host: This is the person who agrees to hold a Tupperware party. The Host invites the Guests, supplies the refreshments, and usually provides the location for the party. In return, the Host is given a Thank you Gift, and an opportunity to receive other gifts based on sales and datings from the party.



Host Gift Specials: These are valuable gifts a Host can earn by getting the required datings and sales from the party.



Jubilee: An annual sales force meeting featuring regional and national levels of recognition, training, new product introductions, and program updates.



Leads: A recruit lead is someone who seems interested in a career with Tupperware or someone whom you think would make a good Consultant.



Leadership: A compensation plan that rewards Managers for promoting new Managers.



Leadership Bonus: A promoting bonus paid on a promoted Manager’s sales as long as Manager minimum qualifications are met by the new and promoting Manager.



Limited Releases: Special products (baseline or non-baseline) offered at a special price for a limited time.



Monthly Flyer: A small, mailable product flyer featuring new and baseline products current Host offerings, sales specials and limited release products.



My.tupperware.com: Authorized personal Websites for Tupperware sales force members. These sites are a simple and effective means of developing an online presence and servicing those customers who prefer the Internet as a means of purchasing Tupperware.



Net Items: The Tiny Treasure Guest Gifts, order-building items, and dating incentives used by Consultants and Managers at parties.



Opportunity Kit: Am Opportunity Kit contains the supplies, business aids, training materials and Tupperware products needed to start a Tupperware business.



Outside Orders: These are orders given to a Host before or after a party, but before the party closes. The Host gets gift credit for all outside orders.



Party: A sales presentation of Tupperware brand products in a home, an office, or any location where a group can gather.



Parties Closed: When a party is closed, no more orders or datings can be accepted. During party planning, you and the Host will agree on a closing date – usually 3-5 days after the party is held.



Party Planner: The Party Planner consists of planning materials (catalogs, order forms, etc) inside the Host Planning Guide. Host Planning envelopes are available for sale as sale aids.



Party Planning: Party Planning is the time spent sitting down with the Host to plan the party from start to finish.



Profit Plus: A monthly cash bonus paid to Managers based on that month’s unit performance, equal to 3.25% of the unit’s retail sales within a Vanguard period.



Promote-Out: To promote out means to move up from being a Consultant to being a Manager. A promote-out is someone who moves from the Consultant level to a Manager level. A Consultant who becomes a Manager is the “promote-out” of the Manager whose unit he/she was in.



Promotions: Promotions are short-term contests, programs, or challenges designed to motivate and reward performance in sales, dating, recruiting, etc. promotions are also incentives to motivate consumers to attend, buy, and date.



Prospecting: Prospecting means looking for new recruit leads every single day.



Quality Guarantee: Some Tupperware products which are not intended for lifetime use are covered by the Quality Guarantee, which states: “Products in this catalog marked with a ‘Q’ symbol are guaranteed to be free of manufacturing defects. If you receive a defective product, please return it within 90 days of purchase to your Tupperware Consultant or Distributor for a free replacement. If, due to unavailability, actual product replacement cannot be made, we will credit the full purchase price amount toward purchases of Tupperware brand products, or refund the full purchase price, whichever you prefer.”

Record Breaker Weeks: Designated weeks when the sales force is challenged to sell a specific amount over a specific period of time. Usually held in October.



Recruit: A recruit is someone who decides to become a Tupperware Consultant.



Referral: A referral consists of the name and phone number of a person who’s been recommended as a good dating or recruit prospect. Consultants give a Guest Gift or other small token of appreciation to someone who gives a referral.



Replacement Parts Catalog: A listing of the sequence numbers, mold/color numbers, item name, color and suggested retail price of most Tupperware products. This catalog is used when a customer returns a defective product for replacement, or if a customer needs to replace only a single part (such as a seal).



Sales Aids: The supplies needed for a Consultant/Manager to conduct business. Sale aids include order forms, catalogs, monthly brochures, host fliers and training aids. Also known as net items.



Sales Credit: A Consultant or Manager gets sales credit based on her/his retail sales (regular line items, sales specials and parts). Sales credit is the basis for awarding contest points and Vanguard credit.



Salesforce Website: Section of my.tupperware.com specifically designed for sales force members. Requires a password which you may obtain from your Distributor.



Sales Meeting: A Sales Meeting (sometimes called a “rally”) is a weekly meeting for all the Consultants and Managers at a Distributorship. These meetings are a fun way for Consultants and Managers to get the information, ideas, recognition and support they deserve.



Sales Specials: Baseline products offered at a special discounted price for a limited time.



Sales Force: Managers and Consultants who sell Tupperware products and in the Distributors who assist them.



Seal: The world-famous Tupperware seal is the unique “top” that fits securely on a product because it’s the best of its kind!



Senior Executive Manager: A Unit or Executive Manager who has stepped up to the next level. Senior Executive Managers qualify for the use of a company vehicle or monthly cash equivalent. Your Manager or Distributorship can give you additional details on the Senior Executive Manager position.



Sessions: An annual convention held regionally for Distributors, Managers, and future Managers, where recognition, training and information are provided.



Showcase: Tupperware’s name for a cart (sometimes known as a kiosk) located in a shopping mall and staffed by Tupperware sales force to sell Tupperware products and obtain leads.



Recruiting Interview: This is a one-to-one meeting with a recruit lead. Its purpose is to help the prospect understand the specific, personal benefits of a career with Tupperware, so they’ll join the business.



Theme Parties: In a theme party, the party is built around a particular subject, topic or theme. Some examples include: entertaining, baking, gift giving and saving money.



The Tiny Treasure Guest Gifts: These small gifts are given to Guests to thank them for attending the party. Guests Gifts can also be given to people encountered outside of parties as a “thank you for listening” gift.
